Since news of the earthquake emerged, we have been frantically working: assisting our loved ones, bereaved by the losses, and supporting the heroic efforts of local organisations, The White Helmets, and volunteers on the ground who have been on the forefront to save every life possible, confronted with a dreadful lack of resources and equipment.

With no official space in London to represent all the Syrian people, ‘The Syria House’ will serve such a purpose, and welcome all those who wish to grieve with us and pay their respects.

SPECIAL SYRIA TÜRKIYE VIGIL

Thursday 16 Feb 2023, Trafalgar Square, 7 - 8pm

Join us in Trafalgar Square for a special vigil to honour the lost loved ones and missing people from the devastating earthquakes of Syria and Türkiye. 

We will light up Nelson’s column with ‘Syria and Türkiye’. 

We will light candles.

We will grieve together.

We will pray together.

Wellbeing guidance in 36 languages – including Kurdish, Arabic and Turkish

  2. Bereavement guides and resources on Good Thinking - including an Islam and Bereavement guide.

  3. Thrive LDN support after sudden bereavement resource (currently framed around COVID but may useful)

  4. Thrive LDN mental health conversation starter tool (SIGNSS)

  5. Good Thinking’s tools and advice to support with anxiety, stress, low mood and trouble sleeping

  6. Mental health workbooks developed by Good Thinking and expert advisors - including coping with trauma, coping with trauma videos, sleep, and panic

  7. Urgent mental health support

  8. For those supporting communities - free Trauma-Informed Practice training and suicide prevention training

  9. Principles of psychosocial approaches and general guidance for supporting individuals and communities adversely affected by events (currently framed around COVID but still useful)
